ABOUT SHARENA SHIV

Sharena is ex-Microsoft and NatWest Group (Coutts Bank). In 2017, pursued a passion and started Devotion Property Management in Devon and currently hosts the START UP. START NOW. podcast. She holds an undergraduate degree in (BSc) Business & Management from Aston University, Birmingham and recently graduated from Cambridge Judge Business School (University of Cambridge) with a Masters in Entrepreneurship (2023). During her time at University of Cambridge, she held a number of senior elected positions at The Cambridge Union (the oldest debating society in the world).

Sharena has been campaigning for gender equality in the workplace since 2014, when she founded Aston Women in Business society, influencing over 3,000 young females, and hosted over 100+ female speaker sessions. Whilst at NatWest Group, Sharena had the privilege of interviewing the first woman to lead a major UK bank, Alison Rose (CEO, RBS) and contribute to ‘The Alison Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship’. Sharena’s achievements to date have been recognised by Deborah Meaden, Jamal Edwards MBE and Duke of York in recent years. In 2022, she was a finalist for the Social Humanitarian award by Asian Women of Achievement, featured as an Inspirational Woman by WeAreTheCity (2022) and named UK’s top 50 brightest young leaders by Henley Business School (2017).

Her work aims to raise awareness of entrepreneurship and highlight gender inequality. Most recently she has interviewed Ben Francis (Gymshark), Steven Bartlett (Dragon's Den), Martin Lewis (MoneySavingExpert.com), Holly Tucker (NotOnTheHighStreet.co.uk), Pip Murray (Pip & Nut), Ainsley Harriott (celebrity chef), Edwina Dunn (Tesco Clubcard), Peter Harris (Hotel Chocolat), Nick Wheeler (Charles Tywhritt) and Nick Telson (Design My Night) to name a few. Sharena currently divides her time living between London and Exeter.
